I have a confession. I have not told anyone that I have a blog. Another confession? I just lied. I told one person, my best friend Feewah. Feewah has known me longer than some of my siblings, and she also has a blog. She won’t make fun of mine because I can GET HER BACK! MWUAHAHAHAHA! I can comment away on her blog if she is mean to me! But she won’t be, because she is cool like that.
Anyway. Blogs.
I am obsessed with blogs. Seriously – I find one and I can’t be all normal and just start reading and commenting. I need to go back in the archives and read their ENTIRE HISTORY before I can read the current entries. It’s a sickness, I know. But I thank (blame?) all the bloggers I am obsessed with for the inspiration to start this blog. I don’t have any illusions of grandeur, that they will magically discover my blog and comment like crazy and we will become BBFF (best blogger friends forever), but maybe, just maybe, the ones that inspire me will take a gander over here and see what I am about. (Sidebar: Aunt Becky, if you miraculously read this site and anything sounds familiar, I don’t do it on purpose. I have read so much of your writing on Mommy Wants Vodka, Band Back Together, Mushroom Printing and the Twitter accounts of all three that I believe I have started talking like you, without trying. Forgive me, for I am extremely impressionable. When I spend time with anyone with a Southern accent, I find myself talking like I am from Alabama (badly). There is no explanation for it. Hell, after reading Miss Doxie (yes, the entire archives), I had the overwhelming urge to start every sentence with “y’all” for a week. (Again with the lies. I still have the urge.)) (Yes, that was a parenthesis inside parentheses. Deal with it.)
But me? A blogger? Am I a mommy blogger? I don’t know that I would categorize myself as either (does two entries an official blog make?). I guess technically I could be considered a mommy blogger, as I am a mommy and Buglet will be guest starring in entries I am sure, but does that count? Does anyone know? Does anyone care? Is anyone reading this? I Just. Don’t. Know.
The official reason for starting this blog was the chronicle the preparation and move from The Big City to Geebs and the hilarity that will ensue when you have two Type A personalities and an infant trying to move across state lines, sell a house, buy a house and remodel/decorate said new house, with three sets of parents, 6 siblings and lots of assorted friends and family coming along for the ride (most of whom already reside in Geebs, the main reason for The Big Move). And I do plan to do that….but I know that a lot of entries will be random bitching, whining and complaining about Stupid People. Just thought you should know.
Fun fact: I have used the word ‘blog’ and variations of such 20 times in this blog entry. Lied again. 21.
